Academic Pathway

The Academic Pathway (AP) offers experienced and senior academics an opportunity to become a Certified Academic HR, in recognition of their professional contribution to HR thinking and knowledge, through academic research and/or teaching.

Showcasing your academic contribution

This pathway allows eligible senior academics to showcase their research, teaching excellence and industry engagement through

  • Preparation and submission of a portolio of evidence demonstrating their contribution to research and/or teaching practice mapped to the AHRI Model of Excellence (MoE)
  • Including stakeholder support in the portfolio submission
  • Interview with a subcommittee of the National Certification Council before presentation to the NCC.

Certified Academic Membership

Eligible candidates who successfully complete the Academic Pathway towards HR academic certification are awarded by the NCC one of two levels of certified academic membership or non-certified level of academic membership:

  • Fellow Certified Academic HR (FCAHR) or

  • Academic Member HR (AMAHRI). Note this membership level is not certified.
